I’m excited to begin training for the Illinois Marathon taking place on April 28th. It will be my 9th marathon. Disclaimer: I received a free race entry to the Illinois Marathon as part of being a BibRave Pro. I’m also excited to share that I’ve signed up to train with Mary and Rochelle from Lift | Run | Perform. They put together a program specifically for those running the Boston Marathon but others are definitely encouraged to participate. The Boston training doesn’t start till December 26th but Mary and I will begin working together to get ready for that training.
I told you I am excited, right? I’ve been wanting to train with Mary since September. Finally this opportunity showed up! For now my A goal is to PR (5:12:59 from October 2016) and my B goal is to get a sub 5 finish time. Man, you’d think that by now I’d get that sub 5, right? Nope.
My training will consist of running 4-5 times a week. It will also include cross and strength training, which I know is necessary, but always fail to do.
I know I wrote about one day qualifying for the Boston Marathon. I haven’t given up on that but for now it will be pushed to the side. Or maybe THIS is my training to train to train to train for a BQ? 🙂
As a HUGE fan of the Brooks Launch 4, I am looking forward to wearing some new shoes that I’ve purchased these past few months (Yes, I am aware I have a problem).

I also want these. Cute shoes and running clothes are required in order to have a good run. Right?
I will be posting my training recap and link up on Sundays. I hope you follow along every week and join in on the link up.
Are you training for a marathon or half marathon? Which one, when, and where?
