β’ September flew by!Β Β Cannot believe I’ve been in school for a little over a month.Β I had a rough couple of weeks but now it is so much better.Β Every single day I go to school thinking of how I can make it a good day for my students.Β I am constantly dealing with students that talk too much :-), those that don’t talk at all, low reading comprehension levels, and those that struggle with simple addition problems.Β Β I am being observed this year so I also need to get some information (data binders, assessment binders, etc) ready.
β’ Brooks Launch and Levitate.Β Β Still have in my rotation two pairs of the Launch and one pair of the Levitate.Β I do my easy runs in the Levitate and my speed workouts in the Launch.Β I remember how before I used to do all of my runs in the same pair of shoes.Β That changed once I realized how much I loved the Launch and purchased a few pairs.Β I wanted to wear all of them and that’s what I did.Β π
β’Β Ran 96.08 miles.Β Dang, didn’t make it to 100 miles this month!Β Despite doing all of my workouts this month, I was still short 3.92 miles.Β Β I am now 70% done of my yearly goal.Β There are 90 days left in 2018 and I still need to run 355.24 miles to achieve my goal.Β Looking at the numbers now, I don’t think I will make that goal but I know I will be very close to it.
β’ Total time running was 19:14:51.
β’ I enjoyed each workout this month.Β Β There were easy runs but also faster workouts.Β I did intervals ranging from 1 minute, 2 minutes, 3 minutes, and 5 minutes.Β Definitely hard but also fun!
β’ 22 days of running.Β I am loving running 5 days a week.Β I don’t know how I used to run 6 days with the Hansons Method.Β I love the easy runs (although a few I did too fast) but am also enjoying my speed workouts.
β’ No races but excited about my half marathon in October.Β Β I am looking forward to the Rock ‘n’ Roll Denver Half Marathon.Β It will be my 39th state in my goal to run a half marathon in each state.Β You can use code RNRBRP2018 to save $15 off the half marathon.
β’ Final Thoughts:Β Β I did every single run and on almost all of them did better than expected.Β It is such a GREAT feeling .Β About 99% of my runs were done early in the morning and it wasn’t easy to wake up to run at 5am.Β However, I am glad I did because it was the last thing I wanted to do after work.Β Plus, there were a few HOT days in September and I was happy to run early when it wasn’t as hot.
So how did September go for you?
Linking up withΒ Marcia,Β Patti, andΒ ErikaΒ for Tuesdays on the Run.
Glad to hear that your running has been going so well! I remember when you were doing Hanson’s…6 days is a LOT, lol, I can’t imagine!
Interval workouts were always a lot of fun in my training – it’s just great to mix things up! And running a half in 39 states?? Awesome!
Haha, yes, 6 days a week. Now that seems intense. π
Wow, sounds like you’ve been rockin those runs! you will be more than set for your upcoming Half marathon! -M
Thank you! I am happy with how my runs have been coming along.
Congrats on a great month! I rotate several pairs of shoes, too. I always have a “new” pair for long runs, and wear the “less new” ones for the other shorter runs or speedwork.
I just received a new pair of shoes from Brooks and am excited to try them out.
It sounds like it was a really great month for you! Nice job getting all your runs done, and enjoying them all! I also run in the morning and there’s no way I’d be up for it after work.
Thanks! I was supposed to run this morning and I didn’t. Now it is cold and am regretting not doing it when I should have done it.
Glad to hear you had such a good month. I hope October is a good running month for you, too.
I remember the days of running with a headlamp before school too. I am retired now, so I can run in ht daylight, which I like so much more. Hope your school year is great!
Thank you! I am counting the years till I retire. π
Great month for you! Sounds like your plan is better suited to you than Hanson’s was. I rotate shoes a lot. Although since Seawheeze, I’m not sure Mizuno will work for me anymore. We’ll see.
Haha, thanks. Now I like not running 6 days a week. π What a bummer about Mizuno. Try Brooks!!
The weather was so back & forth in September, but there was a lot of hot days and I struggled a lot (including my half).
5 days a week sounds like a lot of running to me! I’m plenty happy with 4. π
Sounds like you’re in a great place & I hope your race goes well!
Thanks Judy! I am excited and happy with my coach.
