As a runner, I make sure I have the “best” gear for me. I like my Brooks shoes, Oiselle clothes, Smartwool socks, and Garmin watch. I don’t think I need anything else. I am horrible when it comes to stretching and I rarely use my foam roller. Hopefully that will change soon since many of you have commented how much better you feel when you use it. I have a couple of them and honestly I don’t need that many. Or do I? I forgot to mention that I also have an R8 Roll Recovery (older version) but that thing HURTS!!!
However, there are a few other things that I would like to try or buy.
• A Peloton bike. It will be one of the first things I buy when I move to a house. I love reading about Kim and Deborah’s fun classes in their bike.
• PowerDot Electrical Muscle Stimulator. It provides therapy for tired muscles and aching joints no matter where you go. This little gadget helps you:
• Recover faster
• Massage out knots
• Avoid training fatigue
• Relieve muscle and joint soreness
• Increase muscle strength and endurance
• Increase blood circulation
• Warm up muscles to prevent injury
• Feel your best
• High Intensity Vibrating Fitness Roller. OK so I just wrote that I rarely use my foam roller, but this one looks so cool! I remember a few months ago someone told me about a heated foam roller.
• Compression boots. I have used them at expos and they are truly amazing! I think one time I almost fell asleep.
• Whole Body Cryotherapy. Why not? I read that the benefits of it outweigh those of a traditional ice bath. Should I believe everything I read online? 🙂
This week’s Tuesday Topic: What are some new fitness gadgets you’d like to try? You can write about this topic, or feel free to post any running related blog post. Remember to link up with Kim and Zenaida! Visit at least two of the other linked posts – the more the merrier! Remember to come back for later linkers!
I think a Peloton would be great but I don’t think I’d use it enough to justify the expense! I don’t think there are any gadgets I want but I’d love to be able to pay to workout with my coach more often!
Yes, that would be ideal too!
That muscle simulator looks very interesting. I would love to try that out.
I know, right! 🙂
I would love to try a Peleton..I’ve heard so many cool things about them.
What else?
-a personal trainer
– a new Garmin
-OOfos
Both of the above are too $$
Too many of the great things cost money. Boo.
Yes. Boo
Cryotherapy! I did that once. Not sure it helped any but it was interesting to try at least! My favorite new gadget are the Trekz Air headphones!
How fun that you tried Cryotherapy! I’ve heard so many great things of the headphones. I don’t have a pair though.
I have to admit that I love reading about everyone’s Peloton stuff, it sounds so cool!
I get jealous! Oh but in a good way because I am happy they enjoy their bike.
The Peloton stuff intrigues me, but I’m such an outdoor gal I doubt I’d get much use out of any it. I’d like my own personal massage therapist, on a weekly basis 😉
A massage on a weekly basis sounds wonderful. I used to be able to go once every two weeks but that does add up too.
We seem to be on the same page. I don’t use my foam roller much but still think that vibrating one sounds pretty cool. Peloton bike also looks great but I can’t justify the expense when I live in Southern California and can ride outside almost year round.
I guess that makes sense living in Southern California and being able to bik year round. Here in the midwest is a “necessity”. 🙂
Oh, I am with you on the Peloton! Everyone who has one seems to love it. They are just so expensive, though! I would have trouble justifying the cost.
Haha, I know what you mean. But they still look so cool.
I would love to get my hands on a Peloton. I love spin and it would be so convenient to be able to spin at home.
Cryotherapy would be a hard pass for me. I have Raynaud’s and do’t think my extremities would be able to handle it.
I would love to try out a Garmin Fenix.
The Garmin Fenix does look beautiful. I have a 225 that I love because I get the basic things that I need (pace, distance, time, average pace).
The recovery boots are so cool. The treadmill studio I occasionally visit has them and they’re amazing
I think that if I were marathon training, I would get a pair of those boots.
The heated foam roller would feel amazing I think, You know I love my Peloton and hope you have the chance to try one sometime! thanks for the link up
Thanks. It is on my list of things to buy. 🙂
I would love that muscle stimulator! I hate foam rolling too – but I really should start using mine! Maybe one gets used to the discomfort after a while?!
You and me are thinking alike. I also dislike mine too but know I should use it.
Yes to the Peleton it would be awesome to have one! A heated foam roller sounds very interesting…I used an R8 roller and it was amazing, but I never shelled the cash for my own!
Those are expensive! I don’t think I paid full price for it, but yet still do not use it.
I think the Peleton bikes are so cool, but I do love my Cyclebar classes and think I work harder in a studio environment. The foam roller sounds interesting!
I guess there are other options for the Peloton bike and I know you have mentioned that classes you take. Whatever gets people moving, right?
