Weekly Mileage-54.jpg

Happy Sunday and Happy Mother’s Day!Β  I hope everyone is having a great day.

I ran 3 days this week and one workout on the bike.Β  I have no pictures but honestly I did run.Β  πŸ™‚Β  My 5 miles on Saturday was tough.Β  It was in the low 30s but very sunny.Β  I had 2 layers and was warm enough.Β  The problem was the wind.Β  No matter which direction I went, it was blowing in my face.Β  Still was pleased with how I did.Β  My slowest mile was 12:18 and my fastest was 11:34.Β Β

Felt good to run to one of my favorite places.Β  Took a few minutes to think about where I would like to travel when things are back to “normal”.Β Β

Back in March I signed up for the Un-Canceled Project.Β  They weren’t that difficult to do but yet I only did 2 of them.Β  I was kind of disappointed.Β  So I signed up again for round 2.Β  It begins tomorrow and ends June 21.Β Β

Here are the topics.Β  Did you sign up as well?

Uncanceled Project-5

This week was full of different emotions.Β  I was happy, tired, sad, angry, and scared.Β  Am I weird?Β  Or just a normal human being considering this situation we are in?Β  My best friend’s dad died on Saturday morning from Covid.Β  Ugh!Β  When will this end?Β  Seriously, I am trying to be positive but sometimes it is just so hard.

School is going well but sometimes I do get bored with it.Β  On Thursday about 8 students logged in Google Meet and we had a great time.Β  There was one student that was usually very quiet in class but this time was participating more and answering many questions.Β  That made me happy!

This past week was Teacher Appreciation Week.Β  I’ve been spoiled.Β  Over the years administration has spoiled me with providing sweets, lunch, breakfast, etc., for the whole week.Β  On Monday a teacher from another school posted on Facebook that she received a gift from her administrator.Β  I did wonder if we would get something similar.Β  On Thursday coworkers from my school posted their gift.Β  I knew mine was coming soon.Β  Waited all day and nothing.Β  Our Principal sent an email letting us know that it was coming.Β  Friday morning came and a few teachers from my team got their gift.Β  Nothing yet for me.Β  Finally around 3:30pm I looked outside and saw it.Β  It made me VERY HAPPY!Β  I am not saying that I deserve it or anything like that but it just feels nice.

Looks like they’re up to no good.Β  Ha!

How was your week?Β  A bit more exciting than mine?Β  πŸ™‚

  1. So nice that you signed up for the Un-Canceled Project 2! For sure you’ll be doing more than 2 races this time πŸ˜‰
Love the sign that you got! I hope you’ll leave it outside for a while. You DO deserve it, you know!

    • Thank you. OMG, for sure I need to do more than 2. I hope my runs are more consistent so no excuses. I brought it inside on Sunday because it was rainy and windy and I was afraid the wind would blow it away.

  2. Happy teacher appreciation week! That sign is so nice! Glad you have had sone wins with students in your class, even if most of the time its difficult to get them engaged.

  3. Ugh, there is nothing worse than a headwind that won’t let up. Some days I feel like my runs are uphill in all directions with a headwind in all directions.

  4. Yes, the wind has been unrelenting this spring, especially in recent weeks. Thank you for all you do as a teacher! I know you don’t expect accolades for it, but it still is nice to feel appreciated πŸ˜‰

  5. That’s an awesome gift and you DO deserve it! I think everything you’re feeling is totally normal in these crazy times. Hugs!

  6. You absolutely deserve your gift! Teachers work so hard, and you’re shaping the next generation — never forget that!

Not an exciting week here either. Don’t think I’ll be seeing an exciting week for a while.

  7. What? Of course you deserve that sign! Kudos to all of the teachers keeping it together and doing their best, no matter what. I’ve really enjoyed seeing all of the “Congrats Seniors” signs in our neighborhood. The signs also show where the kids are going to college. It’s interesting to see where everyone is headed.

    • Thank you. Oh I bet hose signs are cool! I cannot imagine what those kids are feeling. I have a few nieces and nephews that are graduating from HS this year but now won’t really get to celebrate it. I do feel so bad for them.

  8. What a cool sign! Kudos to you! What a challenging time to be a teacher, keep your head up, you’re doing great!

  9. I think the swings of emotions are totally normal. I am so glad you got a sign. There are so many houses in our neighborhood with signs for the different teachers and for the seniors who won’t get to graduate. It’s heartwarming and heartbreaking all at once.

We got instructions for pickup of locker contents and stuff. It’s so sad. I get it, but it’s just so hard.

    • I do feel so bad for the seniors. This year is their year and moment to shine and they won’t even get to do that. We still don’t know when students will go to pick up their things. I am not in a rush to pack up my room either. πŸ™‚

  10. I’m glad you got your token of appreciation from your school!

Lately my emotions have been all over the place too. It’s tough for sure.

I was thinking I could handle running 3x/week and now I’m thinking I’ll stick to 2 for a while…my left heel has been talking to me, which makes me nervous!

    • Yes, that and keep up with your challenge has been motivating me. I really don’t care about winning any money but more about not losing my money. πŸ™‚
