Happy Tuesday and welcome to another edition of Tuesday Topics!
This week’s Tuesday Topic: Where do you buy your running gear? You can write about this topic or feel free to post any running related blog post. Remember to link up with Kim and Zenaida! Visit at least two of the other linked posts – the more the merrier! Remember to come back for later linkers!
I have enough running gear that I seriously do not need to buy more. But that did not stop me from placing two orders last week. I have no self control.
Last week I posted on Instagram that I had 6 new pairs of shoes in boxes. I found a pair of the Brooks Levitate 1 in my room. No more shoes for me. I hope Brooks does not make anymore cute shoes that would want me to buy them. I do have enough pairs to last me for at least 2 years.
I also have plenty of socks, tops, jackets, shorts, and pants. Let’s not forget the accessories. So where do I buy all of this good stuff?
✔️ Oiselle. This where I buy most of my running clothes. Like most running clothes, it isn’t cheap but I’ve been able to purchase a lot of it on sale. If it is something that I like very much (i.e. long rogas) then I will buy them at full price. Sometimes by the time there is a sale, the ones I want are no longer available. I must have about 30 pairs of the long rogas (that is how much I like them).
✔️Running Warehouse and Zappos. I love their great customer service. I’ve never had any problem with any of my orders or returns. Running Warehouse’s return policy is 90 days but they’re accepted a few of mine past 90 days. Zappos’s return policy is one year. How awesome is that!!
✔️ Amazon. Pretty much everything can be bought on Amazon. I’ve ordered Tailwind, Huma gels, UCAN, Nathan handheld, and a Nathan hydration running vest. I also have a monthly subscription for Nuun. With the hot weather I’ve been drinking A LOT of it. Is there such a thing as drinking too much Nuun?
Ha that’s a lot of shoes! But Books has been making some fun styles 🙂
I don’t think I’ve ever tried Oiselle’s clothes. I’m a big fan of Ink n Burn, but try to hold out for their sales so it doesn’t get too pricey.
They do make some fun styles! Those are the ones I like to buy.
My husband keeps commenting on my Nuun consumption!
I suppose I’m lucky — it’s so hard to get my Newtons at a good price. I do have quite a few pairs, but only one new pair waiting, and a few that need to be retired.
Amazon is great because you don’t have to pay to return things!
I also like to drink coconut water. Not sure if that is better or worse.
Zenaida, you should open a Brooks retail store! And I thought I was bad with all my new unused Asics. 😄
I order everything over Amazon too. But I always keep my eyes peeled when we’re in a new place in case the stores have cool and unusual running gear. And I love bargains.
I know I should buy from my running store but I don’t.
Obviously Skirt Sports but they are going out of business but I have enough skirts and tops for a lifetime.
I wear my shoes as soon as I get them and alternate a lot. Usually buy where there are free returns and often first at Fleet Feet where I can try them on.
My gu I always get at Fleet Feet. I try to support local stores.
I prefer just plain water. And it’s free. Do NOT like NUUN!!!!
I don’t think I know anyone else that does not like Nuun. How? 😜
Just plain water.
Having worked (many, many years ago) in a shoe store, I know that every shoe (in a particular style/size) will not be identical…so I have always preferred to buy my running shoes in person. My feet are so high-maintenance, it puts my mind at ease. But, I have found a few previous-season shoes on the web that I’ve given in and bought. For me, it’s a gamble on whether they will fit the same as the other ones I already have on hand.
I don’t think I knew you worked in a shoe store!
My favorite bargain site for workout clothes is ThredUp. I got a ton of Nike shorts and Saucony tops last January for cheap. The inventory is hit or miss though. I think you’re out of luck on Brooks not making any more cute shoes, I know that I have been tempted so many times. I try not to stockpile shoes BUT I also keep seeing the Launch 5 turning up on Amazon and I’ve gotten some incredible deals. My last pair was $40.
I’ve heard of ThredUp but have never purchased anything from there.
$40 is a great deal for those shoes!
Your shoe stash is hilarious! Maybe it’s a good thing I can’t wear Brooks cuz their shoes are super cute. I agree with you Running Warehouse has such great service.
It is more like crazy and I need to stop! 😜
You can never have too many pairs of running sneakers – at least that’s what I tell myself, lol. I currently have 3 boxes of new sneakers in my closet.
I knew you would understand me!
Your first statement!!! That’s me! I don’t need any more but I keep on getting lured to my favourite sports store! The only saving grace for me is I can’t get shoes here – I have to travel to South Africa for my Brooks or even Asics, otherwise I too would have as many pairs as you!
How long does it take you to get to South Africa?
We’re just 20 minutes from the actual border. But about 4 hours drive from Joburg or Pretoria which has a wide array of shoe brands. Throw in accommodation, food and of course travel, and you have a very expensive pair of shoes! I actually talk about the frustration of this on the next Tuesday link-up!
I have heard good things about the Oiselle shorts I need to try them out!
You will like them. I also wear the pocket joggers during my long runs and for the Peloton.
