Thank you so much for your comments, thoughts, prayers, and support.ย  I was in tears reading them.ย  It was a difficult and scary time (still is but not as much) but now I feel better.ย  Now what is stressing me out is going back to work.ย  It is still remote but there is so much work to do and I am not ready for tomorrow.ย

I continued with my Peloton cycling classes.ย  I had been doing the 45 minute classes but on Thursday I couldn’t do another one.ย  I was just so T-I-R-E-D and did a 20 minute class.ย  On Wednesday I did the Billy Joel Ride and was excited for the playlist but it was disappointing.ย  There were 11 songs and I knew 2 of the songs.ย  Not the lyrics but at least I had heard the songs before.ย  It is my fault because I should have paid more attention to the playlist.

The rest of the week was busy getting ready for school.ย  We had three Institute Days and I was very annoyed that we got so little time to work on our stuff for school.ย  I mean do we need to know about grading NOW?ย  No, that could have waited since grades are not due till October.ย

I am still not ready for tomorrow or this week.ย  The rest of the day today I will be working on my Google Classroom and figure out what exactly I will be doing.ย  My teammates decided that we will spend the first week going over rules, expectations, assignments, etc.ย  Also, I have no idea how many students will join me in the morning.ย  I have 27 students and only 13 are in my Classroom.ย  Today I will I reach out to parents again to have their child join myย  room.ย  I know, I know.ย  I need to be patient with them.ย  ๐Ÿ™‚ย

I went to the doctor on Friday for my yearly physical exam.ย  She told me I could run outside and no bloodwork would be needed to check my glucose, cholesterol, and all the other fun stuff.ย  She said that last year’s numbers were really good so I can skip it this year.ย  I did get a Tetanus shot and a referral for a mammogram.

I went out on Saturday for a run.ย  It had been almost 2 weeks since my last run.ย  It felt HARD.ย  Could have been the wind or the fact that I was very tired.ย  I have not been sleeping well these past couple of weeks.ย  Regardless I was very happy to run outside.ย  I was supposed to run 4 miles but stopped at 3.25.ย  I simply could not keep going.ย  Mentally I was done.ย ย

Workout-220

Today I ran 3 miles.ย  It did not feel as hard as yesterday but it didn’t feel easy either.ย  Did I lose that much fitness while running and I were on a break?

We were on a break-2

Remember how last week I wrote about how I didn’t think I would complete the California Coast Challenge?ย  Well, before I knew I could run outside I got the following message from the race organizers.ย  Good to know I have the extra time!

17 Comments on Weekly Run Down: I’m back!

  1. I’m so glad you’re feeling better and back to running! I hope that virtual school goes well for you. I’ve heard from so many families in my clinic who are already back in school that it’s all going well–just exhausting being on the computer all day. Stay safe!

    • I am struggling with remote learning. Right now I have 26 students and it is so hard to get them to follow directions and follow along. I donโ€™t know now much longer I can do this.

  2. Oh sweet that they’re adding another week onto the challenge! On the one hand “there will always be another race” but it was really harsh (though necessary) that you had to stop so close to the end. Don’t worry, your body may be all “running what is that?” the first few times but it will welcome running back very soon.

  3. really glad to read that you are feeling so much better. Good luck with school this week. i am sure everything feels so different but you will all get into a groove in a few weeks

    • School is definitely not going how I expected it to go. I have too many kids and to get them to be on the same page and follow along is hard. I really hope things improve because I am truly miserable.

  4. So glad you are feeling better and getting back to running! I hope the start of the school year goes ok. Our teachers go back tomorrow and students next week.

    • So far school is not going OK. Like many teachers I am struggling a lot and mostly because I have too many kids. There is no structure and many get tired and like to good off.

  5. That’s great news on the California challenge! I’m glad to hear you’re feeling better. Best of luck this week…it will probably go a lot smoother than you’re anticipating ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • Thanks Kim! Umm, no.
School is going terrible and I am miserable and exhausted. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ I need to figure it out or who know knows how the rest of the weeks will go.

  6. I’m sure it was all the stress making you so tired. It definitely takes a toll.

Good luck with getting back to teaching in these crazy times! I think it’s even harder to be a teacher now, if that’s possible. My niece is a teacher, just started at a new school — virtually, of course. Let’s hope we have a better new normal in 2021 when there’s a vaccine!

  7. Glad that you are feeling better โ€” no reason to push your recovery. Good luck with school. So much about remote learning is soooo frustrating!

Thank you for your comment!
