This week’s Tuesday Topic is: Five words to describe yourself. You can write about this topic or feel free to post any running related blog post. Remember to link up with Kim and Zenaida! Visit at least two of the other linked posts – the more the merrier!  Remember to come back for later linkers!
I began writing this post on Sunday. Not that I don’t spend time writing my posts for my other topics, but this one took me longer to write. I am not saying that I had so many words and it was hard to narrow it down to 5, but it was hard to actually come up with 5 words. Why is it easier to come up with 5 words for someone else than it is for us? Â
This is what I came up with:
Introverted
I am a social introvert. You might not believe this but I am a shy person. For the most part I am a quiet person too. I am comfortable in a group of 2-6 people. More than that and I’ll probably take a raincheck. I like being alone but sometimes do want the company of other people. Â
Proactive
I think this comes from being independent. I don’t like to wait around for something to happen. If I can get it done, then I will do it. Many times then I will become overwhelmed because I want to do it all. I also know that sometimes it is because I want it to be done MY way.
Independent
I love this about me. There is nothing wrong with having someone there with you or helping you, but for the most part I do many things on my own. I remember being a sophomore in high school and knew I wanted to go away for college. I was not the first one in my family to go to college, but I was the first one to go away. Man, that was one of the best things I ever did! More than 20 years later and I am still very independent. Â
Hardworking
I word hard. I have a strong work ethic. I remember spending hours and weekends on various projects when I worked at the bar association in Chicago. Then I became a teacher and you know how that is going. Many more hours and weekends working on lesson plans and activities for my students. Then this pandemic made it even more interesting when I had to come up with a different way of teaching. It is never ending and no matter what I do, work will always be there. Yes, I am hardworking but I also find a balance to relax and have fun.
Beautiful
This one was hard to write! I am not referring to it as what I look on the outside, but instead on the inside. This word sums it all up. 🙂 I hope everyone that wrote about this topic also picked this word. You are all beautiful!
Oh, I love that you picked “Beautiful”, Zenaida!
It struck me that you are the third person to describe themselves as “introverted”. Make it four, because I’m introverted as well.
I guess that’s why we’re bloggers, right? 😉
Do you think it’s easier for introverts do deal with the pandemic?
I was “OK” at first. I didn’t have to go anywhere and I could just stay home reading a book or watching TV. Then the months dragged and I did miss that human interaction. I got frustrated and just wanted to be around people.
Your work ethic definitely shines through — as does your beautiful personality — especially how you care for your students.
Thank you! You made my day.
What Catrina said ^^^! I might seem extroverted, and I am in many ways, but yes, I am an introvert who does much better one on one than in large groups. I think you are beautiful on the outside too!
Thanks, Wendy! Your last sentence made me smile.
Awhhh, but you are beautiful, in every way possible 😉 Like you said, though, it’s the inside that counts, and your passionate for your students shows through 1,000 times over <3 I had a tough time coming up with five specific words as well…this post theme was a great exercise 😉
Thanks, Kim. I am glad you liked this topic. I wasn’t sure if others would write about it or something else.
I love your last word. 🙂
Alas, I can be a procrastinator. Not always, but it’s definitely in there. I am, however, also very independent. I couldn’t wait to fly the coop, and I think my parents were actually quite happy to be empty nesters, LOL!
I am definitely introverted. And I’m not really a social introvert, either. I like smaller groups too. It doesn’t mean I don’t like people but larger groups can be so draining.
I never would have thought you were introverted too. 🙂 I try not to procrastinate because many times it doesn’t always work out for me. But I know that sometimes you just have to procrastinate.
Sometimes procrastination works — but often it doesn’t!
So true!
Love your words. We would definitely get along well. I could have picked the same ones.
Thanks, Darlene.
Love all the words that you selected for yourself! I am a social introvert as well so I totally understand what you said about that.
I am glad we did this topic. I wasn’t sure if others would write about it or pick something else.
It was fun to read through what you wrote as well as the comments! Looks like we are all quite introverted! But the last word you chose – wow! You are beautiful inside and out and oh! I absolutely love the work ethic you have and the passion for your job. Those kids are so lucky to have you. You give your everything.
It was very interesting to read how many of us are introverted. 🙂 Beautiful is a word that not many of us would pick for ourselves. Well, it wasn’t easy for me because I never saw myself that way but yet I could see it in other people. Interesting, huh?
I love that you included beautiful! You are, both inside and out!
Thank, friend. I appreciate it.
I love that you included beautiful! Your inner beauty shines through for sure 🙂
Thank you Deborah!!
You are amazingly beautiful, inside and out! I love that you included this and it is so true.
I am also a social(ish) introvert. I can hold my own out and about, but then I am so ready to be home and be done.
Thank you. Yep, I think social introvert is the “correct” term. We like small groups.
