I am doing NaBloPoMo this month. 30 blog posts in 30 days. Come join me. #nablopomo2022
Welcome to my first post of NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month), 30 posts in 30 days! It is my first year participating and while I am excited about it, I am also a little nervous. It should be an interesting experience too!
November is my birthday month and this year it is the big 5-0. Yep, I turn 50 this year. So many thoughts about it but I will leave that for another day.
Anyway, this post is my 1,000th post! I’ve been blogging since January 2011. I had no idea what I was doing when I started my blog. I began using WordPress and then went back and forth with Blogger before finally deciding on WordPress. Oh, and I’ve changed my domain name a few times too. See, no idea. OK, maybe a little since I am still blogging. 😆😆
The best part about blogging has been the bloggers I’ve met and the support and encouragement they’ve given me. I’ve had a few rough years with running and being a teacher and they’ve all been there for me.
I am pleased to let you know that I survived Halloween. My kids were excited and they actually did well. We did our usual reading and writing. The rest of the day we did some fun Halloween sheets (math, word search, etc), watched movies, and played hot potato.
I was going to dress up as a cat but then remembered I had a witch’s hat. A simple and easy costume.
I made treats bags for my students. Too much? Did I over do it?
I am also linking up with Tuesday Topics! Make sure to join the linkup!
Congratulations on your 1’000th post!!
Great job at being so consistent for 11 years.
All the best with your November project – that will add another 30 posts to your blog.
I’m looking forward to reading your daily posts!
Thanks, Catrina! Blogging isn’t easy and I do wonder how there are people that blog for a living.
Congratulations. I’m glad you’re still blogging and we’ve connected.
Now we just have to meet in person.
I was a witch too at a Halloween race I volunteered at.
Good luck. I know I couldn’t blog everyday. I’m struggling at 3x a week.
I also struggle with blogging and wonder how some people blog for a living. I entered (again) the lottery for the NYC Half Marathon. Hopefully I will get picked!
Congrats on 1,000 posts and starting NaBloPoMo! I’ve been blogging since January 2013 and have met so many nice people as well (like you!).
Blogger friends are the best!
1,000 posts is a nice milestone! I saw that Halloween meme on FB over the weekend, LOL. I’m glad the day went well for you and your students 😉
I was also surprised it went well.
I’m so excited that you’re doing NaBloPo!!! It’s your birthday month but you got us a present instead of the other way round;-)
I guarantee that the kids were thrilled with their Halloween goodies.
Aww, thanks so much!
First time visiting – I came over from San’s site for NaBloPoMo and am excited to follow along as you blog every day this month!
I don’t think anything can ever be “too much” when it comes to making fun memories for kids?! It’s amazing what things stand out from childhood, too. Those little goodie bags could be a highlight they remember for decades to come. Just last week I was thinking about someone I knew as a child who always gave me pink peppermints. Every time I have a pink peppermint (admittedly, not that often as an adult), it immediately reminds me of that woman and how special it made me feel when she gave me a peppermint!
Thanks for stopping by my blog! That is a great memory. I do hope I am creating some great ones for my students.
When I saw that Halloween fell on a Monday this year my first thought was “OMG, those poor teachers!” I am glad to hear that you survived lol
Thanks. I was also surprised it went well too.
Zenaida, I am so excited that you’re joining us for NaBloPoMo this year… and appropriately, as a long time blogger, you’re celebrating your 1000th post. Congratulations. That’s amazing… it’s no small feat to keep a blog for so many years! I am looking forward to reading more this month, to celebrate the blogging community and your big birthday!!
Thank you!
wow 1000 posts is a lot. Congrats on that. And welcome to the NaBloPo community. So fun to follow along and getting to know you better.
Thank you!
Welcome Zenaida and congrats on 1000 posts- that’s a huge accomplishment! I’m excited that you’re doing NaBloPoMo- it’ll be fun.
I recognize those Halloween pretzels- I get them every year and give them out to trick-or-treaters (in addition to candy.). If there’s anything left over I try to make sure it’s the pretzels- something I don’t mind eating myself.
Glad you survived the holiday with your class! I’m sure they loved it.
I had forgotten about the pretzels because they were in my car. I have a couple left over and have added them to my snack box.
I am glad you survived Halloween! Good for you for taking on this daily challenge. Looking forward to seeing your posts
Thank you!
Wow, 1000 posts! That’s amazing. I’ve been blogging for a long time too–Blogger only and it says I have 1213 posts. My hubs will shake his head at that one. I’ve really cut back tho. I couldn’t blog daily, though!
I don’t know how bloggers do this for a living. 1,213 posts is amazing too!!
Stopping by from San’s blog. 🙂 Excited to have new bloggers to add to my feed for NaBloPoMo. November is my birthday month as well!
God bless you for getting through Halloween with kiddos. I really feel for all of the teachers this week, haha.
Thank you and Happy Birthday month to you too!
Wow, 1000 posts, congratulations! I follow San on Instagram and stumbled on NaBloPoMo there and honestly am a little nervous, too. I am sure the kids appreciated the goodie bags – at least mine are always happy when it comes to that 😉
This year was the first time hearing about it so I figured why not?
1000 posts and what a way to celebrate than with a 30blogs in 30 days challenge! This is wonderful! I have about 35 blogs to do to reach my 100 Blog Challenge for 2022, so your daily blogs will certainly inspire me to keep going! What beautiful treats for the kids – you are the kindest teacher!
I am just getting to responding to comments. That is wonderful about the 100 blog challenge!
