This week’s Tuesday Topic: What are your goals for 2023? You can write about this topic or feel free to post any running related blog post. Remember to link up with Kim and Zenaida! Visit at least two of the other linked posts – the more the merrier! Remember to come back for later linkers!
I can’t believe 2022 is almost over. And what a year it has been! I know I said this before.
Time to start thinking about next year. Last year I wrote my goals for 2022. I will update you on how I did and then talk about my goals for next year.
❇️ Stay injury free. I was doing good until plantar fasciitis decided to visit. As if that wasn’t enough, hip pain came too. They’ve both overextended their stay and they need to leave.
❇️ Buy a house. I came really close by making an offer but then decided not to move forward.
❇️ Travel. Does it count that I traveled downtown for a race and to the suburbs for another race?
❇️ Continue to be patient at home and at work. I did good here. It wasn’t easy. It also helped that I picked my battles.
❇️ PR in my 50k. I tried twice to run a 50k but it didn’t happen. I guess it never will and I am OK with it.
❇️ Run 1,200 miles. This was not my year of running. I ended up with 481.71 running miles and 7.37 walking miles.
❇️ Complete 300 Peloton rides. Done! I am currently at 359 rides. Is it cheating if I am counting my warmup and cooldown rides? The Peloton instructors tell me I need to take them so I am listening to them.
2023 Goals:
➡️ Complete 500 Peloton rides.
➡️ Run 800 miles.
➡️ Run at least 5 races.
➡️ Do one Peloton activity each day.
➡️ Read 12 books.
And that is our last Tuesday Topics of 2022. A HUGE thank you for joining me and Kim each Tuesday to talk about running and other things not related to running. I love this group of bloggers!
Wishing you an (early) Happy New Year!
Topic for next week – Your word for 2023. Feel free to write about this topic or any running related topic. We hope you’ll link up with us!
And thank you for hosting, Zenaida! I love this little group of bloggers, too.
I hope you will find some good races to sign up for next year. Have you already picked a few?
So far I have the NYC Half and the Cherry Blossom 10 Mile. I am hoping to add two more local races one in March and another one in April. Then the 4 on the 4th in July. That is 5 races already.
You really changed up your goals… I think they are great and I bet you reach them all.
And 2022? You did your best. That’s what counts.
Thanks! I wanted something different and not to repeat what I’ve had the past couple of years (i.e. buy a house).
Mine are the same almost.
That’s a nice set of goals. My 2023 goal is to try to remain injury-free.
Happy New Year to you, too!
That is a great goal too!
I like your goals for 2023, especially the goal to do one Peloton class per day. They have so many classes to choose from so this should be a fun goal to complete next year.
I hate that I pay a monthly fee but don’t use it as much like I should. I would also like to do 10k Peloton minutes this year. We’ll see how that goes.
Picking your battles is SO KEY to a better and healthier existence! And you save your energy for those battles you can’t avoid. I love your goals for 2023 – simple, measurable and achievable. That’s what I’m going for in 2023 too. Have loved being a part of your running journey this year and looking forward to seeing all you achieve next year!
Thanks so much for your support and encouragement! I also loved being a part of YOUR running journey this year. You did GREAT!!
You got this! Wishing you a strong start to 2023
Thank you!
Nice list of goals! I haven’t checked my Peloton totals in awhile…I know I’m well over 100 rides because I accidentally “listened” to one while on a run (a few months ago)..and was congratulated for completing my 100th “ride.” Yeah, oops! I hope 2023 goes well for you!!
That is too funny about the 100th ride.
“They’ve both overextended their stay and they need to leave. ”
Such good phrasing.
And I’d absolutely count the warm up and cool downs.
Look forward to finally meeting this year.
I will be in New York from Thursday through Monday. I have parent/teacher conferences that morning and need to be on the first flight back home.
