Let me tell you about how July is going for me:
Mileage:Β Β To date Iβve run 61.62 and walked 36.36 miles.
Run the Year 2024:Β Β I signed up to run and walk 2,024 miles this year.Β So far I have completed 291.61 miles (per the RTE Tracker).Β I am training for the Chicago Marathon and I am excited to see how it will go and to see how many miles it will add to this goal.
Current Book:Β I read βBright Burning Things”, “Leaving”, “The Taste of Ginger”, and “Lucky”.Β Currently, I am reading “The Bright Side Running Club”.
Injuries:Β Β I’m still dealing with plantar fasciitis.Β I purchased a pair of orthotics for running.Β I like them but the size I bought doesn’t fit correctly in my shoes.Β They were bothering me during my long run on Sunday.Β I bought a bigger size and those fit better.Β Today I will see how they feel.
Races:Β Β None.
Health:Β Β I am doing OK.Β I am still dealing struggling with hot flashes and the weight gain.Β I went to the doctor because of the weight gain.Β She ordered a blood test to check the thyroid, A1C, etc.Β Crossing my fingers that my A1C level went down.Β The last time I had a blood test, I was pre-diabetic.
School:Β Still on Summer Break and will return to work on August 12th.Β I am a little excited about it.Β Currently, I have 23 students in my classroom.Β I’ve sent them all a welcome letter and they should receive it this week.
What I am looking forward to next month:Β A new school year with new students!
The topic for next week:Β What are you focusing on this month?Β Feel free to write about this or any running-related topic.Β We hope youβll link up with us!
I hope your new orthotics will feel more comfortable! Well done on your marathon training for Chicago!
Will you tell your class that you are going to do the marathon? I’m sure they would come to cheer you. All the best with the new school year!
I will tell my students. I don’t think they’ll cheer me but you never know.
It’s annoying because my inserts do not fit all my running shoes.
So far it seems your training is going well.
Enjoy the rest of the month before school starts.
I’ve had luck with my orthotics except this last pair that I bought. I bought a bigger size and so far so good.
I recognize all those books! I loved them all, especially Leaving–there was just something about the writing.
Glad your training is going so well! I’m volunteering with my Trail Sisters and will be at the first aid station!
The ending! I was like “What??!!. What did he do?”
Aw. I wish things were a little bit easier. That being said, I’m glad you found the right orthotics and I hope you get some answers from the doctor.
Nothing in life is easy. Right? π
