Welcome to the November edition of the Ultimate Coffee Date hosted by Coco and Deborah. It’s also time for another edition of Fit Five Friday hosted by My First 5K and More, Running with Attitude, Run Laugh Eat Pie, Runs with Pugs, and me!
Now, grab a mug of your favorite beverage, and let’s chat briefly!
If we were having coffee…
I’d tell you that I am not a big fan of Halloween but I get into it because of my students. Most of them dressed up and 4 stayed at home because they do not celebrate Halloween. In my lesson plans, I had that we would do work in the morning and then spend the last 2 hours doing fun activities. Nope, the whole day was full of fun activities. A few said that it was a fun day. Mission accomplished! But I went home even more exhausted.
If we were having coffee…
I’d tell you I saw this figure early one morning. It was dark and it FREAKED ME OUT.
If we were having coffee…
I’d tell you that it doesn’t bother me that I am losing my Starbucks stars. I don’t go there often so I knew it would be a matter of time.
If we were having coffee…
I’d tell you that I signed up for a few more half marathons next year. I am already going to Fargo, ND at the end of May. I will be running in Myrtle Beach (SC) on March 1st, Albuquerque (NM) on April 5th, and Olathe (KS) on April 26th. I will be crossing off 4 states from my 50 states +1 list. That leaves me with 3 more to go (Wyoming, South Dakota, and Idaho). Yay!
If we were having coffee…
I’d tell you that I had plans to go to Boston in April to spectate the Boston Marathon. I waited too long. The tickets that are available are either not convenient or too expensive. So since I am not going anymore, I am now able to go to Kansas for a half marathon.
The topic for next week’s Fit Fit Friday – 5 reasons to run a turkey trot. Feel free to write about this or any fitness topic you’d like. We hope you’ll link up with us!
Wow. That is ambitious. Good luck with your half marathon quest.
I have decided to cut back on long races… it takes too much time and energy to train.
Working remotely, I don’t dress up for Halloween. I actually miss it.
I am crossing my fingers that my races go well. It is time to do something and get moving.
The kids always love Halloween at that age! Sounds like you have a fun race and travel schedule already for next year!
I am looking forward to my races!
The teachers at my husband’s school all dress up- his department went as characters from Super Mario Bros (my husband was Luigi) and they won first prize! Not sure if that involved an actual prize or just bragging rights.
I remember Halloween being so fun when I was in elementary school- I’m glad your students had a fun day.
I love your half marathon plans! Sounds like an adventurous year.
I love seeing a group of teachers dress up to a common theme. A few did that in my school.
I usually love dressing up but the hurricanes really held me up this year. It’s fine of course… minor inconvenience for us, but Ive just moved right on to christmas LOL!
Kansas will be cool!
So you are skipping Thanksgiving? 🙂
That’s a great race line-up! And, I’m sorry you won’t make it to Boston – it would have been fun to see you.
I am bummed too!
Great job keeping the kids entertained for Halloween…it’s nice you were bale to give them a fun celebration 😉
It made me happy to see them happy, too. The next celebration I plan to have is before Winter Break.
Good luck with your half marathon quest!!!
Thanks, Wendy.
Wow you’re getting SO close to your 50 state goal. Impressive! I always volunteered to come in and help the class on Halloween so the teacher could catch a break. Is that an option for you? I can totally understand how exhausting it would be if you had to do it all by yourself.
Honestly, I don’t even know. I should ask before I plan my next celebration.
