1. Β Tomorrow is the last day of school!Β Β Can you tell I’m excited? Β I have been waiting for this day since my first day back from Spring Break in April. Β My students will be in class for one hour and then I can leave 20 minutes later. Β Except, I won’t go home. Β I need to help tally some survey results for our teacher contract. Β Then I will head out to pick up my nephew, Ivan, whose last day of school is also on Friday. Β We have so many exciting things to do this summer. Β Our first one is Six Flags Great America on Monday. Β Also, one of my goals this summer is to organize my medals. Β Do I have enough or what?

2. Last year I participated in my first RagnarΒ and had a blast! Β Unfortunately, this year I cannot participate because of school. Β See #1 above. Β I am truly jealous of those running it this year. Β I will be volunteering for it. Β I am looking forward to being “behind the scenes” and to see the runners in action. Β I will be at Exchange 35 (Northwestern University) from 6:30 am – 12:45 pm. Β Not sure what I was thinking in signing up for a shift that early. Β Oh well.

3. Yesterday was National Running Day and so I ran one mile with my nephew. Β He is such a cute little kid. Β He told me no jogging. Β He did not jog. Β What did he do? Β He ran fast, got tired, and had to walk. Β That was OK. Β We still had fun. Β A few years back he did a few small races but now has retired. Β I am hoping he gets that running bug again.

  1. Holy wow! that is a lot of medals. You should melt them down and make one GIANT medal or gong and ring it every time you finish a run!Yay for summer break! You guys deserve it!

  2. Yay for your summer vacation upcoming!!! Your mountain of medals is amazing!!! You should do a post on your faves within that medal collection, e.g. most meaningful, quirkiest, weirdest, etc.

Thank you for your comment!
