Hard to believe that it is the last day in December! Oh and it is the last day of this decade. The plan was to stay home today, go to bed early, and wake up to 2020. However, my cousin invited us over to her house to celebrate. It is supposed to be cold and it snowed this morning so I am not sure if my mother would want to go. We’ll see.
This week’s Tuesday Topic: End of the Year Review. You can write about this topic or feel free to post any running related blog post. Remember to Link-up with Kim and Zenaida! Visit at least two of the other linked posts – the more the merrier! Remember to come back for later linkers!

I like to look back and write about my running stats. I like seeing how I did and think about what I want to change or do different next year. In late November I started working with a new coach and am excited to see how I do next year. I have a lot of old PRs and I would like to set some new ones in 2020.

For now let’s check out my stats:
⇒ I ran a total of 730.71 miles. Last year I ran 1,054.58 miles.
⇒ Time spent running: 146:27:24 hours. That’s about 6.09 days running in 2019!

⇒ Number of races: 5. See them here. Next year I plan to run a few half marathons in various states and a few local races that I do every year.
⇒ Best race: Detroit Free Press/TCF Bank Half Marathon in October. Even though I was undertrained with my longest mile being 6 miles, I had a great time running in Michigan and in Canada. The race was well organized and the weather was perfect!
⇒ Worst race: Delaware Marathon Running Festival and Missoula Half Marathon. Well, they weren’t exactly horrible but I did struggle a lot. The course was pretty in Delaware but it was hilly and I was frustrated towards the end. In Missoula it is mostly downhill and a nice course but my left foot bothered me and made running painful. Plus, the logistics to get there wasn’t easy and it is so darn expensive.
⇒ PRs set: 0.
⇒ Lowest mileage month: September with 29.46 miles. Last year December was my lowest with 45.37 miles.
⇒ Highest mileage month: June with 106.52 miles. Last year March was my highest with 121.43 miles.

⇒ Average pace over the course of the year: 12:02. Last year it was 12:06. 🙂
⇒ Average cadence: 158. Last year it was 162.
⇒ Shoes: I am still a Brooks fan and buy them from Zappos or Running Warehouse. Early this year Brooks banned me from ordering shoes from their website. At first I was upset about it but now I don’t care anymore because there are other places that now get my business. 🙂 This year I ran in the Levitate 1, Launch 5, Launch 6, Revel 3, and Ghost 11. I have a few new pairs in boxes and cannot wait to run in them in 2020!

Thank you to everyone that has joined us every Tuesday for this linkup. We’ve had some great topics and interesting discussion. We look forward to many more years (hopefully) of more fun topics and to encourage and support one another. Have a Safe and Happy New Year!
