Tuesday Topics: My Fall Plans

This week’s Tuesday Topic is:  What’s on your Fall bucket list?  You can write about this topic or feel free to post any running related blog post.  Remember to link up with Kim and Zenaida!  Visit at least two of the other linked posts – the more the merrier!  Remember to come back for later linkers!

I do not have any races coming up so I’m deviating from this week’s topic.  Well, sort of since my topic is still Fall related.  🍂 🍂 🍂

I am excited about Fall!  I LOVE Fall!  Can you tell?  Let me tell you what my plans are for this Fall.

🍂 Run in shorts and long sleeve.  Yep, it is still warm enough for shorts but cool enough for a long sleeve top.  Sometimes I wear compression socks.  I am not ready for tights.  Those belong in the colder weather/Winter.

🍂 Enjoy Thanksgiving.  I am grateful every day for everything I have.  I am lucky and fortunate to be in good health, have a job, and a place to live.  However, Thanksgiving to me is “just” another day.  I look forward to my days off and spending time with family.

🍂 Train for a 50k.  Yikes!  I guess now I will be doing it.  I am nervous and excited about it.  I already told my coach.  And now I will need to train to train for my 50k.

🍂 Buy a house.  I have to add it here again and hopefully it will happen.  I know everyone keeps telling me to be patient and that the perfect one will show up.

🍂 Stop staying late at work.  There is always work to do and I will never catch up.  Sometimes I feel like I do more than I should.  I am feeling better about work because I have my routine set up with my students.  I feel like I know what I am doing and that is making the day go smoother.  <<It’s been challenging to learn and implement two new curriculums this year.

Any fun plans this Fall?

A 50k! That’s so exciting, Zenaida! Where and when will the race be?
Your coach will do an excellent job of getting you race-ready.

I am looking at the Chicago Lakefront 50/50 race. It is usually in March/April. My training starts tomorrow.

As you know, Summer is my season, but Fall does have some nice features. I agree with the long sleeves/shorts outfit …it’s such a nice combo!

With Fall it is like holding on to the last big of Summer before the coldness of Winter. Now that is my last favorite one.

Excited Zenaida! Lots of big plans this fall. Good luck!

i really love the week of thanksgiving too. I usually take that week off and it’s a great time to decompress and be around family.

We are off Wednesday-Friday but do wish we were off the whole week. I mean, really, who wants to work for 2 days?

Long sleeves and shorts weather is awesome! Running in capris or tights just feels too restrictive to me so when the perfect fall weather comes around, I soak it up! A 50k! That sounds exciting. Good luck and hope your training goes well!

With shorts I am still holding on to the last days of Summer/Fall. I do not like Winter so it is perfect for me.

Shorts and long sleeves is my favorite combo! I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for YOUR house to pop up and also good luck training for the 50k. That’s impressive!

Thank you! I need all of the support.

I’m glad you’ve been able to settle into a routine! I really do think most people love fall. Although the dang chipmunks are driving me nuts!

Good luck training for your 50k.

It’s been a challenge but happy with the results. It makes the day go smoother and everyone is happy.

That’s awesome that you are going to do a 50K! Are you planning on an in-person race or running it virtually?

    1. Zenaida Arroyo Avatar

My plan is an in-person race.

50K?? that is exciting. Can’t wait to follow your training.

I like the colors of fall but not the lack of daylight… in fact I’m dreading it because it limits where I can run.

However sometimes when I am working from home, I can skip out at lunch for a short run…like today!!

Call me crazy, right? I am not enjoying the lack of daylight either. It is 7pm and already dark.

That is crazy. But I’m sure you’ll succeed. You are dedicated. Like with your streak.

Those are a lot of great plans! And a 50K? yay! Tell us more, which one? I’ve got some trips on my calendar and I’m really looking forward to those. I’ve been working too much lately!

I am thinking of the Chicago Lakefront 50/50. That is the one I’ve already run. There is one in the Spring and another one in the Fall.

I can’t wait to hear about your 50k training! That is an exciting goal.
Shorts and long sleeves… that’s what I wear on the coldest days here. To me, that outfit indicates perfect running weather!

    1. Zenaida Arroyo Avatar

Thank you. I start training tomorrow.

I have a hiking challenge on my fall bucket list and it starts tomorrow! I’ll share more about it on my coffee talk post. I am considering a 50k, but that is for the spring…

    1. Zenaida Arroyo Avatar

The 50k I am looking at is also in the Spring. The same organizations has one in the Fall but that will be my back up.

Thank you for your comment!
