How is it that it is already December? Going back to work after a few days off for Thanksgiving Break was exhausting. My kids were still in vacation zone and let me just say that no on was in the mood to work.

A few things that I like are:
⇒ Balega Socks – I love SmartWool but now am loving Balega socks. My favorite are the ultralight/ultraglide socks. They’re thin but yet cushioned enough to provide enough support.
⇒ Road ID – I never take mine off. Yes, I even shower with it. 🙂 Mine has two of my sisters’ contact information in case of an emergency.
⇒ Gift cards – I get my running shoes from Running Warehouse or Zappos. I love that they offer FREE shipping. If for some reason you change your mind, you can also send them back for free. I run in Brooks shoes and have the Launch, Ghost, and Levitate.
⇒ Garmin watch – So many great ones out there now. I love mine. I have a 225 and have had it for 4 years. Mine is simple and I use it to track my shoes mileage, pace, distance, and time.
⇒ Black Diamond Storm Headlamp – I run in the morning and it is very dark outside. My headlamp is perfect for those mornings.
⇒ Oiselle Lightning Layer – This is one of my favorite Oiselle items. I can wear it over another top or a sports bra. With the vest and the headlamp, for sure you will be seen!
⇒ Koala Clip – It is a pouch that holds your phone, keys, ID, etc. It has a magnetic clip that you clip inside your sports bra. The Koala Clip does not chafe nor does it bounce.
⇒ BibBoards – They’re bib fasteners. The nice thing about these is that you don’t need safety pins hence no holes in your race shirt. There are so many different and fun designs to pick from.

Just last night, I ordered a couple of the koala clips for gifts. I’ve been eager to try one out because I detest wearing a belt.I may have ordered more shoes, too…. 😉

I’d be happy to see all of these under the tree. I have the Garmin F235 and adore it but my pick for a gift would be the F35, which is very affordable and has a ton of features. The thing on the list that I would like to try the most is BibBoards.

BibBoards are cool! I was a little skeptical but they’re pretty awesome.

I keep forgetting about Koala clips! I like Smartwool for everyday wear, Balega for running. But right now I actually have plenty of socks — although I could use a few more of the knee high compression socks I wear in Winter.

I’ve seen those bib fasteners before and was wondering if they stay in place. I don’t like poking holes in my sometimes pricey tops.

They do stay in place. I was skeptical at first but they work well. Yeah, I don’t like to use pins either because they damage the tops.

I run so often without anything on me to identify me. I guess it would be fun to see how long it would take for the police to figure out who I am….but I think I’ll buy a Road ID instead. Thanks for the tip!

All great gift ideas that any runner would love! I love Balega socks and took advantage of the buy 3 get 1 free specials at the last to race expos I’ve been to, so I have a bunch of new, fun patterns. I also now have my son hooked on them.

Does the lightening layer breath well? I would most likely be wearing in in spring/ summer temps (I am in Houston, TX….where we probably get less than 30 cold days a year). I am just wondering how hot it might make me if I just wear it over a jog bra?

I think it does but I know everyone is different. I have worn it over a sports bra and do get warm but I always get warm when I run.
